The Launch of Covers So Lovely We'd Lick Them!

Today I am launching a new feature that will be taking place every Thursday on mine and my good friend Rachel @ In The Library of Ladyviolet’s blogs. This all come about in a rather bizarre (which is the norm for us :P ) conversation on twitter which started off as us discussing what boys from books we would like to lick ( not in a rude way mind just you know on the cheek or something ;) ) and then we got on to the topic of book covers and how there are so many gorgeous ones out there that we would want to express our love for them by licking them! Me and Rachel are both magpies when it comes to book covers and tend to buy a lot of books purely on their gorgeous covers alone. So this is a totally silly, superficial, fun post where we’re going to be selecting one book a week with a gorgeous cover and explain why we love it and therefore why we have insane urges to lick it! So let the craziness begin! Every Thursday we each pick a different cover to gush about so check both blogs! My Pick for this Week Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (UK edition) So I’m sure that a lot of you have seen the US cover for this book and I like so many people fell in love at first sight. I was a little fretful that our UK cover wouldn’t be as pretty but when it was released the other week I fell in love all over again and I have to say that I love it even more than the US edition which I didn’t think was possible! My favourite colour is purple so in my opinion the more purple the better and this book definitely delivers on that! What I like about our UK ed is that the purple’s a much darker colour making the girls face and the book stand out more. I love the models eye colour it really draws you to her face and if I was to see this in a book shop it would be one that I buy straight away regardless to what it’s about. Luckily this sounds like a great read so I don’t think anyone will be disappointed if they get lured in by this cover alone. I’m really looking forward to this book and when I get it I’ll definitely be fighting off the urges to lick it! So that’s my cover for this week.
