Letterbox Love (19)

Letterbox Love is a meme hosted by Lynsey @ Narratively Speaking for UK based book bloggers to showcase the books that they’ve received each week.

This week was my birthday week but because of the dumb snow a few of my books haven't arrived yet and NONE of them arrived in time for my birthday but they did show up later on in the week when the snow started to thaw. I also got a nice bundle of review books when the snow had melted enough for the postman to trudge to my door, and they were epic so it totally made up for the silence earlier on this week. I do love the snow but when it interferes with birthday plans and books I do wish it would go. It's nearly all melted now which I'm thrilled about because for a while there I was worried it would interfere with me meeting John and Hank Green next weekend. SAY WHAT!? Yep this time next week I'll be on my way to London to meet them so I hope that's the last of the snow for now. ANYWAY let's get on to the books...

 For Review

The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead (I know, I know! Eeek!)
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer (I have no idea why my copy doesn't have the title filled in, it is a finished copy. Printing mistake perhaps? Either way it's slightly annoying)
Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick (Teacher/Student relationships fascinate me and this one sounds really good)
Gilt by Katherine Longshore (I have heard great things about this one from US bloggers, excited!)
Anthem for Jackson Dawes by Celia Bryce (This sounds sad but wonderful)

 Birthday Presents

The Archived by Victoria Schwab (Squeals!)
The Essence by Kimberly Derting (Even more squealing. Also the US covers for this series are so pretty!)
Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher (this sounds really good and has an interesting premise)
Altered by Jennifer Rush (ALL of the hot boys! Or so I'm told)
The Valentine's Card by Juliet Ashton (Valentines read 2013)

That’s it from me for another week! If any of these beauties have caught your eye and you’d like to find out more about them simply click on the title and the link will take you to goodreads for a full synopsis, reviews, and to add them to your wishlists. As always thank you to the lovely publishing folk for the review copies and various family members for my pressies! If you’re looking forward to a certain book in particular and want to request a review feel free to in the comments and I’ll do my best to get around to the book sooner rather than later. And if you decided to do a Letterbox Love, Book Haul, IMM, Showcase Sunday, Mailbox Monday or whatever else featuring the books you got this week leave me a link as I’d love to check out your books too! ^_^

 Happy reading till next time!

  2. *Plonks 'Drowning Instinct' firmly on wishlist* Yeah yeah, I know I'm not meant to be buying books, but that one is seriously piquing my interest. I'm a fan of the fascinating teacher-student taboo-romance dynamic too, so it sounds right up my street!

I'm mostly being very good so far this year - one or two preorders have arrived, but other than that I think my only slip has been a little Penguin Popular Classic edition of a Henry James novella that came into the shop and made it home. Not too bad for an entire month, really... :)

    1. I've heard amazing things for Drowning Instinct Ellie so I'm glad it made your list! Agreed I'm a sucker for any kind of forbidden romance good or bad and I'm always interested to see how the author pulls it off.

I had noticed ;) I need to take a leaf out of your book me thinks. My TBR pile actually toppled on me this morning *blushes and shuffles off in embarrassment*

  3. I feel the same way! We had quite a lot of snow in the past two weeks (which is almost entirely melted now, thank goodness) and it always interferes with my plans. Always. :(

So glad your books showed up, though! I keep seeing Ketchup Clouds on people's blogs so I'll have to check it out.

Hope you enjoy your books! x

    1. It sucks doesn't it? It's great if you have nothing on or get snow days off work/school but when it messes up your plans I hate it with a passion! Thank god it's all melted now!

Thanks Vicky, I'll let you know how I get on with Ketchup Clouds it looks great! x

  5. I'm so glad all this awesomeness finally arrived. My sister was home this week and I had her stalking my postman. I love the cover and premise to Drowning Instinct, I'll definitely be looking out for your updates on that, I'm so tempted to by myself a copy after the gorgeous reviews I've read! I've also read so many promising reviews for Altered and Ketchup Clouds! I hope you enjoy all your books! :)

    1. Thanks Jas! I was getting worried about it and the last batch I was waiting on arrived today so yay! Oh yeah a reasonable amount of postman stalking is totally acceptable if you're waiting on books, that's what I plan to tell the judge when mine gets a restraining order against me anyways! I'll definitely let you know how I get on with Drowning Instinct I'm really looking forward to it :D
