Book Bloggers Hop & Follow My Book Blog Friday!

Hello to all my wonderful followers and to hopefully some potential new ones! This Friday I’m participating in The Book Bloggers hop which is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and Follow my Book Blog Friday that’s hosted over at Parajunkee's View if you wish to take part please stop by there and sign the Mr Linky. This week’s question from the hop is... 'Do you judge a book by its cover?' My answer: It depends. If I’m in a book shop browsing for some new titles then yes because if you don’t know anything about a book it’s the cover that draws you in. However if I’ve heard about an amazing book and I look it up and it doesn’t have the best cover it doesn’t put me off buying it. Having a nice looking cover on your bookshelf is always a bonus but it’s not the be all and end all for me. That said a lot of the time US and UK covers are different and if I prefer one cover over the other I’ll either snap up the US title or wait for the UK one an example of this actually happened the other day with Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. I much prefer to US edition over the UK so I just had to order the US one and when it arrived yesterday and I got to see how pretty it is in real life I’m so glad that I got that edition. So over all yes I’m kind of fickle but if a books got good reviews and an awful cover it doesn’t stop me from buying it. Feel free to leave me a comment and if you like what you see remember to follow! Leave me a link with your blog and if you follow I’ll check you out too :) Hope your all enjoying my blog! Happy hopping! :)

  1. Past getting my initial attention, I really don't care what a cover looks. Once I own it, the cover just becomes a way to recognize the book so I can find it easily on my shelves when I want to reread it. A good cover is a really great way to get me to pick up a new book and take a second look at it, however!

  3. I agree Jess. When I'm browsing for something new covers make a bigger impact. Interesting thought about the US vs UK cover. I did have a series where I got the very last book with the UK cover (won it from a blog) and discovered I liked the UK covers for all the books better!

  7. Hello! I love your site design =) I agree - it's easier to judge when you're in a store, but if the description is interesting online the cover doesn't put you off. I might start having to check out the UK covers, though!

I'm stopping by on the hop! It looks like you've got a great site! Happy Friday =)

  8. I'm an old follower just hopping through. It seems that most people tend to judge books by their covers. I'm guilty of it! I picked Halo as one of the covers I'm in love with too. Have an awesome weekend!
