Book Bloggers Hop & Follow My Book Blog Friday!
Hello to all my wonderful followers and to hopefully some potential new ones! This Friday I’m participating in The Book Bloggers hop which is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and Follow my Book Blog Friday that’s hosted over at Parajunkee's View if you wish to take part please stop by there and sign the Mr Linky.
This week’s question from the hop is...
“When you write reviews, do you write them as you are reading or wait until you have read the entire book?”
My answer: Before I write a review I always, always make notes on the book whilst and straight after I’m done reading it in a notebook. I have categories set up and I write my thoughts on them underneath like plot, characters, writing etc; then when I’m done filling in my thoughts on those I’ll jot down any random thoughts I have about the book. Then when I’m next online I’ll cobble together all of my opinions and turn it into a review. I’ve only been doing this for a couple of weeks now before I’d just sit down at the computer and write whatever came to mind but I’ve found doing this so much better so I don’t forget anything I want to include. So in short I guess I do both!
Brilliant question this week. I look forward to finding out how everybody else writes their reviews! I hope your all enjoying my blog and if you like what you see follows and comments would be much appreciated, Hope you all have a great weekend :-)

Notes are always a must when you decide to review a book. It is always easy to remember, same as bookmarking :) Dropping by via the hop. Also became a follower through GFC. If you have the time, come visit me over Cladestine Sanctuary and don't forget to enter the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteAlready a follower. Just stopping by to say hi. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHi, you are so very systematic. I don't take notes while reading unless its non-fiction. If the story is memorable, it tends to stick to my mind and i just let the thoughts flow into a new post. =)
ReplyDeletehave a great friday,

I want to start doing this again... I used to do this in college all the time and I felt I really *understood* the book better that way.

Book Blogger Hop, Follow Friday and a Giveaway!
I already follow too! but to answer your question... I tend to write my reviews after I am done reading the whole book. I usually tell myself to make a mental note of something while reading, and most of the time I remember to write about it in my review. I've found though, I have to write my review pretty fresh after I'm done reading or else I'll lose all thoughts together! I should probably start writing stuff down like you do, haha.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you from Crazy-For-Books! Looking forward to seeing what you post on your site! You can view my blog and follow me back at:

I Am A Reader, Not a Writer
Hi ! I'm a firm believer of finding the way that works best for you when reviewing. Whether you write notes or not, the goal is to write a meaningful review that sparks excitement in those that read it. Me, I'm a note taker. I love including any insight I get and with a crappy memory, note taking is vital. Go with what works :)
ReplyDeleteHop by and visit my blog

Hello, I am brand new to the book blog-o-sphere. It is a great place here.
ReplyDeleteI wait until I'm finished reading. I do carry a notepad just for keeping tabs on good quotes from each book I read.
