February's Book of the Month is Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
For those of you who saw my gushing on Goodreads and Twitter this is a no brainer really (hardy har! I'm ALL for the cheesy puns!) I picked this one up because I liked the look of the movie trailer and my friend Ellie was reading and loving it. I didn't expect it to become one of my all time favourite books! I went into it expecting your average zombie novel full of gore, I wasn't expecting this book to move me to tears or to be so freakin' funny, so beautifully written and so thought provoking on what makes us human. If zombie's aren't your usual thing I'd still urge you to give this a try because it's so much more than a zombie novel. LOVED IT!

How was your month in reading? Did you read any of the books I’ve read? What are you looking forward to reading in March?
I'm dying to read Warm Bodies! So happy to hear you loved it so much. I'll get to it eventually, hopefully before the movie is out on DVD :D
ReplyDeleteHaha, YES, the romance in The Indigo Spell... *___* AYE and tables, AYE and tables.
I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of Warm Bodies and I can't wait to watch the film!
DeleteAhh! Richelle Mead knows how to write some swoony scenes! ;)
You had a really good February; you read so many books!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering whether I should read Warm Bodies or not, so I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed it so much.
I think that you choosing Perfect Scoundrels as the book with the best plot is spot on; it was a book that I loved.
Best wishes for March! :)
I think you'd really enjoy it Lucy it has a contemporary feel and the writing is gorgeous! I loved Perfect Scoundrels, I hope March is just as good :)
DeleteI've never read a zombie book before, though I love zombie films/dramas (obsessed with The Walking Dead) I might give this one a try :o)
ReplyDeleteI love The Walking Dead too! I hope you decide to give Warm Bodies a go :)
DeleteWow, it looks like you had a good February! Mine was pretty awful, books-wise, with far too many 3-star reads. March looks set to be better though. Clockwork Princess! It feels like I have been waiting my whole life for that to release now. I'm both excited and terrified. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Sorry to hear that Sam, I hope this month is better. I feel the same way about Clockwork Princess I have such high expectations that I hope it lives up to them!
DeleteI am looking forward to saying goodbye to the snow and colder weather though, as we move into Spring.
ReplyDeleteHear hear! I loathe Winter. I'm sick of being cold and achy and I really, really resent coats. All I want is to go outside without a coat. All I want. It seems like this Winter has lasted aaaages even though it's starting to get warmer already. I WANT TO GET WARM.
Oh another Warm Bodies fan! I've been intrigued since reading Ellie's ravings about it, but I might finally have to indulge if you love it as well. Especially since I just rewatched the Warm Bodies trailer and it does look pretty awesome.
It really does, all that snow we had for ages didn't help. I actually very nearly took my coat off yesterday - I know!
DeleteJoin us Hanna! You know you want to! And everybody knows that you have to read the book before watching the movie ;)
I loved Warm Bodies! I read it before I started blogging, and I'm thinking a re-read is in order very soon. I'm really looking forward to reading Clockwork Princess, it feels like we've been waiting for forever for it to be released!
ReplyDeleteYay! Another Warm Bodies fan :D It does doesn't it? Everything will be getting dropped as soon as Clockwork Princess arrives and I refuse to go online until I've read it in case I get spoiled!
DeleteOh I'm so glad that you had such an epic reading month in February, I started reading Warm Bodies but had to return it part way through as it had been requested by someone else, but I definitely will have to get a copy for myself! And yay for Perfect Scoundrels I have so much love for that book! :)
ReplyDeleteAh I hate when that happens! I hope you do get your own copy and get to finish it! Oh me too I think it's my favourite Heist book yet!
DeleteI'm so glad you loved Warm Bodies so much! I saw the film and thought it was funny, but I'm curious to pick up the novel and am glad it delivers. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I really hope you do pick Warm Bodies up Keertana! Am glad to hear the humour in the film delivered :)
